Viscoelastic Diverting Acid

Viscoelastic Diverting Acid

conventional acid systems are limited to bot-tomhole conditions of approximately 200 degF [93 degC]. The VDA* viscoelastic diverting acid is rated to 300 degF and eliminates the damage associated with solids and polymers in matrix treatment. VDA acid can be used as the sole treating fluid or with other treating acids for diversion.

VDA viscoelastic diverting acid, a self-diverting, polymer-free acidizing fluid, can be used alone or with other treating acids to maximize zonal coverage in carbonate reservoirs. It viscosifies as it stimulates in carbonate formations, diverting the remaining acid.

5/1/2013  · Among these techniques, injecting the viscoelastic surfactant-based self-diverting acid (VES acid) is an effective method to divert acid to other low permeability zones. The VES acid is able to be self-viscosified with its consumption through the gelling of the surfactant.

11/1/2006  · Viscoelastic-surfactant (VES) -based diverting products have been used successfully in matrix acidizing in the Gulf of Mexico (GOM) in recent years. The uses of VES diverters range from remedial matrix-acid or nonacid-cleanup treatments to use before gravel- or frac-packing operations to clean up long intervals after perforating.

5/13/2003  · The self-diverting acid contains a novel viscoelastic surfactant that undergoes an increase in viscosity as the fluid penetrates carbonate formations. The decrease in acid concentration as the acid reacts with the carbonate rocks promotes the transformation of spherical micellar structure into a worm-like structure that imparts high viscosity to the fluid.

11/4/2017  · Diverting agents are usually used for temporary blockage of highly permeable ections and diversion of fresh acid to less permeable parts . Viscoelastic diverti ng systems have several problems associated with purification and inefficient diversion even though they are widely used in the field .

diverting system should be included. Viscoelastic surfactants (VES) have been used as chemical divrting agents to gain total zonal coverage in stimulation of hetrogeneous carbonate formations (Alleman et al. 2003). These surfactants are added to acid solution. VES apparent viscosity rapidly increases as acid .

Viscoelastic surfactants (VES) have been used as chemical diverting agents to gain total zonal coverage in stimulation of heterogeneous carbonate formations (Alleman et al. 2003). These surfactants are added to acid solution. VES apparent viscosity rapidly increases as acid reacts with formation, and then forms an in-situ gel.

(1) This products is used in Viscoelastic Diverting( VAD ) Hydrochloric Acid system exclusively, and all the performance and standard is based on Saudi Aramco standard. (2) This products can be made by customization(Base on temperature, acid concentration, steel type) . (3) This products is fit for C-95, L-80,N-80,P-110, 13-Cr, steel.

1) Viscoelastic Diverting Agent is a surfactant based chemical diverter which is very effective in distributing treatment fluid homogeneously across treatment zones in stimulation treatment at various well conditions. 2) Viscoelastic Diverting Agent forms viscous micelle structure when its concentration reaches certain level in water or brines.
